I have joined forces with Adriana Fernandes-Bowyer to bring you some exciting art workshops.

The next two are:

May 4th - Learn to Paint on Silk

The previous two workshops were Watercolour for the Petrified,
and Watercolour Go with the Flow (exciting wet-in-wet watercolour).
If you would be interested in doing either of these, please contact me by comment.  I may be able to re-run them at a later date.

Future workshops planned are:

* Abstract StArt  - Introduction to abstract art - all media
* Portraits from Photos  - All levels, all water-based or dry media.
* Introducing Monoprints  - for Beginners, near beginners

The Benefits of Sharing

I have recently discovered the site Paint My Photo , where generous photographers from around the world share their images freely, for the inspiration of artists.

I've made a number of pieces, and more than a few friends, as a result of joining this site.  I do not make copies of photographs in paint.  Where would be the sense in that?  But I have been inspired by some of the images to create what I hope are imaginative, original paintings like this..........

Trees Interlace (with Moon)

inspired by Craig Johnson.
Flutterby

inspired by Kathryn Smith

I would encourage any artist or photographer to check it out.  It's a wonderful community and a great resource.

New Images

I've posted some life drawings on the 'Life' page above, since I've been going to the Rising Sun Arts Centre again recently.  Most are short poses, between 1 and 5 minutes.  There are one or two full colour studies from 40 minute poses.

There's also a new portrait, not entirely complete, in pastel pencil on  Murano paper..........

This was made in one of the Saturday Llife/Portrait sessions at Remenham a few weeks ago.  It's the lovely Anne.
